Wow, it’s been quite a long time since the last post so here goes…. Elaine has had a few set backs with the back pain but things are finally going in the right direction with the help of therapy and medication. John has been the best groom ever participating in every decision and step along the way. The actual wedding is less than 2 months away and we just put the invitations in the mail.
For setting this up! After seven years with your sister, I can’t picture life without her, so we are tying the knot on July 19th, 2008.

On Friday I went with Mom to the doctor and got good reviews on my progress!
On Saturday afternoon John drove me to the jewelry store to get our rings sized and we were able to pick them up later that evening. I was excited when John put it on my finger and it fit perfectly. The best part was he gave me a kiss afterwards and just kept smiling for the entire afternoon. I love seeing him smile 
We got the church in Northbrook!
The church is the very same church John has been going to since he was a kid. Every time I have gone there with John and his Mom the people have always made me feel so welcome. I know we made the right choice.

For those of you who have been wondering why there have been few posts it is because I have recently had back surgery for a lower L5-S1 disc herniation pushing on the S1 nerve root.
Wednesday March 27th was possibly the most painful night I have experienced since 2002 when I had my last back surgery. How did I manage to herniate a disk again you ask, well the answer is quite simple and the same as last time “I have no idea”. All I know is somehow I managed to drive myself to Lutheran General Hospital on Thursday morning and checked in for 9 days of some serious drugs, surgery and medical treatment. Finally, on Saturday April 5th they let John take me home. Since then I’ve been mastering rolling, walking and climbing the stairs with the aid of a cane.
